The Canton of Ynys y Gwaun invites you to join us for fun and good cheer to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. 

This is a weekend of camping on our beautiful Island.  There will be a Baronial Thrown Weapons Championship, martial activities, arts and sciences, good time, good food, and happy people.

Greetings and Blessings to all!

This year marks a great milestone in our little Canton. 30 years ago the Canton of Ynys Y Gwaun came to be. Join with us at Summer’s End to celebrate our 30 year anniversary. To that end our tiny canton is pulling out all the stops, we have ripped open our coffers and are offering a grand feast. Focusing on foods from around the known world, this walking feast offers the most divine delicacies from around the known world. Some of these ingredients are delicacies from distant lands, foods you must try.

Side note: this is soooo not period specific, but it will be tasty!!

Appis:
Variety of hard cheese, pickles, olives (GF, Veg)
Breads (There will be GF breads available)
Hummus (GF, Veg, DF)
Tzatziki (GF, Veg)
Bruschetta (GF, Veg)

Starting in the home of the Celts, Normans, Saxons and Vikings:
Grilled rat on a stick (oddly enough it tastes like beef) (GF, Veg, DF)
Cornish Pasty (introducing the potato) (Veg, DF, GF – will be available)

Travelling south we arrive in the land of the Moors:
Dolmas (GF, Veg, DF)
Samosas (Veg, DF, GF-will be available)
Falafel (GF, Veg, DF)

And ending our journey in the Beautiful lands of the Romans, Greeks, and Spartans:
Grilled Rock Dove on a stick (kind of tastes like chicken…)(GF, Veg, DF)
Spanakopita (Veg, GF-will be available)
Grilled vegetables….yes on a stick (GF, Veg, DF)

Saving the best for last Sweets:
Grilled Pineapple on a stick, marinated in maple syrup (GF, Veg, DF) (try not to eat the stick)
Fruit kabob (yes I know I know, too many sticks, but finger food…) some may be drizzled in chocolate, or I may have chocolate to drizzle on them, not sure yet.
Cupcakes (Veg, GF version will be available)
